Jan is a Registered Planner and Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and is based in the Hunter Valley of NSW, Australia. She has been a pro bono member of the NSW Shade Working Group since 2017 and provides an independent voice to the Group at the exciting intersection of land use planning and public health. She is otherwise self employed and consults to councils & state government agencies, primarily in regional NSW. Her planning interests are a diverse mix: healthy built environments; using demographic analysis to carefully frame planning policies; floodplain management and strategic planning & social impact in regional areas. She particularly enjoys collaborating with public health professionals to create more comfortable, equitable and healthier environments for all.
