Joachim completed his undergraduate degree at The University of Otago in 2015 before returning to The University of Queensland to complete an MPhil (Research) with A/Prof Helmut Schaider studying melanoma plasticity. Since 2018, he has been employed as a Research Technician by Prof H. Peter Soyer and in 2023 commenced a PhD with Dr Mitchell Stark to investigate molecular boundaries between naevi and melanoma.
