Cancer Council Queensland

Based in the world’s melanoma capital, Cancer Council Queensland has researched skin cancer prevention, detection and treatment for over 60 years. Their groundbreaking research projects have demonstrated the feasibility of a community-based melanoma screening trial and reported on the effectiveness of whole body clinical skin examinations.
Cancer Council Queensland also runs vital cancer prevention and support programs. Working with government, businesses and community organisations, they aim to reduce cancer risk through initiatives such as the Cancer Risk Calculator and the Portable Shade Project. Queenslanders touched by cancer can call the 13 11 20 information and support line to access services including counselling, accommodation, and transport.
